A Bit About Myself

My name is Michael VanHorne. I am a motivated and dedicated Information Sciences and Technology student at The Pennsylvania State University, with a passion for leveraging technology to drive innovation and solve complex problems. Currently pursuing my B.S., I am set to graduate in 2026, but I currently have my Undergraduate Certificate obtained from The Pennsylvania State University World Campus in May 2022.

Throughout my academic journey, I have been actively involved in extracurricular activities, including serving as the President of the Technology Student Association (TSA) at my local chapter, where I not only honed my leadership skills but also achieved recognition through various event awards including coding and technology bowl. Additionally, I am proud to have founded the Mifflin County High School Computer Club, fostering a community of like-minded individuals passionate about technology.

My diverse skill set encompasses proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP as well as SQL, CSS, and HTML. Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Blender3D, Unity3D, AutoCAD, and more. Furthermore, my familiarity with operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Debian Linux.

In terms of professional experience, I currently serve as an inventory analyst at the Overhead Door Corporation, where I develop BI reports for Inventory as well as design new or enhance existing warehouses. As of now I oversee three warehouses across three manufacturing plants. All of which utilize Oracle EBS. One of the first things I did here was update our training manuals for floor employees and subsequently ran training courses. Now I focus more on BI reports. We are a made to order type manufacture which makes inventory management quite difficult and hard to plan for. I am currently(July 2026) creating a report to allow material handlers to see upcoming demand by department so no one will ever have to submit a parts requisition.

Prior to Overhead door I worked many summer jobs both in high school and college. Most notable as a Sound Board Operator at Mifflin County Communications, Inc., where I manage sound checks, mixing, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth live broadcasts. Prior to this role, I gained valuable customer service and teamwork skills as a Team Member at Milroy Dairy Queen, JCPenneys, and Lowes.

Driven by a curiosity to explore emerging technologies and a commitment to continuous learning, I am eager to contribute my skills and expertise to projects that push the boundaries of innovation. Connect with me to discuss opportunities for collaboration and growth in the dynamic field of Information Sciences and Technology.
